Amy Rusk, MS, LPC

 

Amy is dedicated to cultivating a space where people feel genuinely heard and understood. She works to offer a comfortable space marked by empathy and acceptance, in which her clients are welcomed to voice issues and concerns. She enjoys working with youth, adolescents, adults and families and brings a gentle and empathetic presence to each client session. She understands that clients may desire to integrate spirituality into their therapy, and is willing to use her Christian faith, and other spiritual resources to guide clients through difficulty and challenge.

 

Amy received her Master’s degree from John Brown University with a joint focus in Community Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy in 2005. She completed her Bachelor of Science from John Brown University in Psychology as well as an Associate of Arts degree in Cultural Studies in 2001. Amy began her career as a counselor working in community mental health in Oklahoma. Amy also owns an agency in Westville, OK. She has always had a heart for her home of Siloam Springs and has been ecstatic to open her private practice in 2020

 

Although she works with many different symptoms and situations that people struggle with, her specialty is working with PTSD, C-PTSD, trauma, and grief. 

 

She has an integrative approach to counseling and draws upon a variety of approaches depending on the needs of her clients. She integrates Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as any other as needed.
